Summer Summary

"But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen." - 2 Peter 3:18

As I considered the newsletter article for this month, I thought it might be helpful for our members to have a bit of a summary of this summer's events here at St John. Recently I stated in the service that St. John is a church of the word

This is most certainly true! Sunday morning Adult Class has decided to continue to meet all summer! We have had a growing group over this past year as we continue to explore the Epistles of the season corresponding to the Gospel reading for that day.

The Tuesday morning Bible group has begun to study the Gospel of John. We are taking our time as we enjoy this wonderful work and how it applies to our lives.

Additionally, we are now beginning another Adult Catechesis gathering on Sundays with a number of young people now am

ong us!

St. John is also a worshipping church. We have continued to gather with a good group for Wednesday evening service. And although it is largely spoken, this is a full Communion service with readings differing than the weekend readings.

Attendance has been quite good over these summer months at

all our services which evidences how the Lord feeds us as we gather in his name!

St. John is a church of the word. St. John is also a worshipping church. These two correspond and complement one another. For as we worship together God is present in and through his saving and strengthening word for us all.

May we then continue to grow in the grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity! Amen.
