Work in progress!

“Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure.”

The New Year is now upon us. We have a fresh start in our lives! The gift of life and faith is ours to share in 2018 as we work together! There is much service to give our Lord as we give to one another. In this sense we “work out our salvation” as Paul says in his letter to the Philippians.

Yet, this life of faith can be hard work. So, isn’t it good news that this life is a gift of God? Isn’t it wonderful that our God works in us all day to day no matter what we face? Paul puts it this way, “It is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure.” As God’s people we have received the greatest of all gifts in Jesus our Savior. We are constantly renewed in faith as we worship and receive God’s grace together. Simply put, as children of God, you and I are the Lord’s works in progress!

Yes! It is good news that our Savior begins and continues his good work in us day to day! Together then, let us move ahead into the New Year and beyond, ever looking together to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! God’s work is still in progress in you and in me!
