The Call of God

And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. --Colossians3:17

St. Paul said these words and God inspired them! We are to do whatever it is we do in his name and in a life of faith! Jesus Christ gives to us as his people more than we could ever ask or think. So he calls us to live as we are for who he is! We are talking about the biblical doctrine of vocation. Whether we are young or older, single or married, the message is the same for all of us. We love him because he first loved us. As children of God we have all been given much and all is of God. So it follows that all is to be given for God in our lives of faith. It is all we are for all he is to us! Again, “Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father.”

This summer I will be offering a special study entitled: “Summer Vocation.” And that is not a misspelling! We normally think of vacation in the summer months. Perhaps we might also think of “vocation!” Join us for our summer study this season as we discuss together Christian vocation. We will meet on Wednesdays at 6pm over the course of the summer for ten sessions beginning Wednesday, May 19th in the church sanctuary. We will explore together God’s purpose and plan for our lives of faith; our life’s vocation to be his own special people! Please join us for any or all of our sessions. May we live the life of faith in response to his grace in whatever we do in word or in deed. It is the call of God!
