New Beginning

For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us. For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God.

--Romans 8:18,19

2020 is the year many wish to forget…A new year is now upon us and it remains to be seen what 2021 will bring. As Christian people we believe that whatever the year, whatever the circumstance, the Lord is with his people in all things and at all times. This may be hard to see when we are dealing with what life seems to throw our way, but our Lord is indeed with us and is preparing us for life in the world to come! We await the new heavens and the new earth that our Lord has promised!

Simply said, we are here to prepare for our home in glory. We were never meant to stay.

So as we begin a new year of life let us look toward the life that has no end! St. Paul says that being “in Christ” by faith makes us as God’s new creations. We are at once made new and being renewed by him in the grace of Christ, no matter our circumstances. As he said, “I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.”

With all that transpires in this world our Lord calls us to look beyond the frailty of life and seek him in faith each day! It is my prayer that 2021 will be a year of blessing in our Lord’s presence as we await the revealing of all God has in store in the world to come!
