Christmas In Action specializes in doing small construction and/or home repairs to help those in need. A recent project, shown in the next three photos, was the design and construction of a wheelchair ramp. (They even tested to make sure it was OK to sleep on the ramp!)

St. John Church has a very successful confirmation mentor program. In this program, adults spend one-on-one time with youths who are studying toward their confirmation. In December, mentors and confirmands all got together at the home of Laurie Smith for a Christmas party.

St. John's Christmas In Action team has quite a few pending projects. They recently repaired a floor for a local lady. Below, Ed Lynch cuts out some of the rotted particle board.
In another recent project, CIA installed a hand railing on a dangerous flight of stairs. At bottom left is the stairway prior to the project.

A photo essay of people who were willing to help.
In July of 2008, Pastor Jim traveled to western Maryland with three of our young people. They spent a week with many other volunteers from all across the country doing rehab construction work for families who were in need of help. The following series of photos gives evidence of what can be accomplished when a group of people — even those who have never met before — works toward the same goal.
These young people and their adult supervisors gave freely of their time and themselves to do God's work. Thanks to all of them!
