As you may have heard by now, Pastor Jim is leaving St. John Church to take a position at a church in Eatonton, Georgia. His final service here will be on Father's Day, June 16.

Following that service, there will be a farewell brunch in the fellowship hall (beginning at about 10:30 AM). All are invited to say goodbye to Pastor Jim, to wish him Godspeed, and to thank him for his nearly 7 years of leadership at St. John.

The Walther League will be holding their annual Giant Tag Sale in the fellowship hall on Friday and Saturday, July 12 & 13, from 9:00 AM–2:00 PM each day.

We'll be posting information about donating items in the near future, so watch this space for updates.

On Saturday, June 1, there will be a car wash from 9:00 AM–2:00 PM. The Walther League will be selling tickets for this event. The donation is $5 per ticket.

During the summer, worship services are on Thursday evenings at 7:00 and Sunday mornings at 9:00. We will switch over to our summer worship schedule beginning on Thursday, May 30.

The Sonrise Singers is a high school youth choir from Bethany Lutheran Church in Austin, Texas (http://www.blcms.org/). It is in its thirty-second year of touring. The current choir, under the direction of Kimberly Angerman, is made up of 26 ninth through twelfth graders. In years past the Sonrise Singers have performed in churches and schools from Canada to the Bahamas, as well as nearly every state in the continental U.S.

This year's production is called MOMENT OF TRUTH. It's a musical drama about one or more moments of truth in life. Maybe it is when one gets married. Or when they are discovered. Or maybe it is when they lie for the first time. Truth comes into our life with our first breath, but we all have a moment when the truth strikes deep within our soul. That is your Christ Moment of Truth!

This special event will begin at 7:00 PM on Thursday, June 13, and will be preceded by a congregational pot-luck supper in the fellowship hall at 5:30.

On Thursday, June 27, we will have an outdoor service (weather permitting). The Bell and Chorister Choirs will perform special music, and there will be an ice cream social following the service. Keep an eye out for further details.
